Local Natural Products Training in Tiwoho & Budo Villages

Manado State Polytechnic with support of UK Government, and the ILO implements skills for prosperity project conducts Natural Local Products Training in Tiwoho Village on Nov 14-15, 2021 and Budo Village on Nov 16-17, 2021

This activity aims to improve equity access to education and training for marginal communities around the coast, and specifically aims to:

  1. Increase knowledge, behavior, skills in managing various natural materials (village potential) to be used as various unique tourism products that are superior to the village. The participants consist of representatives of the village community who already have a product/business or have an idea to be developed in their village. Gender representation is prioritized (50% women), representatives from Bumdes management, Pokdarwis, and youth organizations.
  2. Develop a follow-up plan for the implementation of training in managing natural ingredients.

Summary of activities

  • Participants:
    1. Tiwoho Village, There are 20 participants consisting of 18 females and 2 males and;
    2. Budo Village, There are 22 participants consisting of 21 females and 1 males.
  • The creation of various kinds of nature-based products by prioritizing local village wisdom;
  • Products are managed by the community either in groups or individually under the supervision of Bumdes, to facilitate the coordination of activities in tourist villages;
  • Each participant prepares a product/business plan as a follow-up to the local natural product training.
